Greg is the best character you cant change my mind. He always takes Ls too and it makes me mad he deserves so much 😤I can guarantee that y’all are thinking waaay more about the “kid gems” thing than the writers and artists are 🤣 I think they made them look younger so it’s obvious that this is taking place in the past. It would be really confusing if all the gems looked exactly the same and Greg is the only one different.

Pearl has always been a controversial character in the fandom don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. She’s a very flawed person but it makes her an interesting character that a lot of people can project on because her flaws are ironically very human.

One thing that’s a funny running gag for me is how obvious it is to everyone that Greg is into taller women. His brain shorted out at the rainbow quartz fusion.

Yes, Gems technically don't wear clothes, because what looks like their clothes are part of their forms (they also don't have any private bits unless they choose to shapeshift them.) However, I remember the creators once said that some Gems can have actual clothes made for them for status: Jasper wore an actual cape in her first appearance.

I promise I'm not one of those crazy Pearl fans (she's no Garnet or anything, she's ok) but in Pearl's defense: she comes from a race that lives for millennia, easily outclasses humans physically, and are intelligent enough to single-handedly build a (mostly) functioning spaceship in a barn (season one). I think a lot of people would be pretty salty if the person they devoted their life to for thousands of years chose a particularly charming golden retriever over them.

In terms of the “Child Forms” thing, just to clarify- the idea is that they were simply depicted as “younger” for the sake of the flashback, it’s an aesthetic choice to show “this was a long time ago.” Those were just the forms they took at that period of time for whatever reason, which would have no bearing on their effectiveness in battle or actual life experience, but rather is just a visual signifier of the SU timeline.

So to give some context to the horror of those forced fusions. Think of it as a combination of Frankenstein’s Monster and human centipede. Each piece fused could be like a limb, finger, frontal lobe of a person stitched together. Now add in the horror that each piece is alive and still has a part of its consciousness from it original body kind of like being stitched together in human centipede. But since they are pieces there is no way to know how much of that person is there. And you are not allowed to die, you are incapable. So long as their is energy in the combined/whole gem you can never die of old age. The physical gems are like hard drives, the forms they take are basically software applications. When the program crashes (form breaks) they need a hard boot to fix the problem (reforming maybe with some settings tweaked). With this I hope it’s easier to understand the horror of the situation. Especially from Garnet’s perspective. It can also double as a very dark representation of forcing people into ‘couplings’ which is something that has historically happened.

I honestly forgot how much body horrors this show can have some time the gem mutants are pretty much the equivalent of people taking the parts of dead humans and reanimating them after fusing them together it’s pretty fucked up except for gems I’m pretty sure their consciousness can exist even in a shard so it’s like doubly bad
