I feel like it's not that hard to understand but maybe because my brain is an absolute mess so things that are also a mess makes sense to me but basically I thought the machine the jingle machine whatever basically was creating a kind of like pocket dimension or something of the sorts where time was just basically looping and no one really ever age or anything like that But when they lifted the so called curse or something is the best way I can put it the time loop was broken everyone was put back in the respective place in time when they were taken and just continue their lives at that point

Asad Khabir

Someone explained it but to put it in simpler terms, they lifted the curse so Mr Jingles was never trapped in the Village. He never kidnapped any of the kids and they lived their normal lives. Mr Jingles went on to found the present day Snow Village (or whatever it's called) when he grew up. Elsegood must have been one of the first children that Jingles kidnapped but now since the kidnapping never happened he lived a normal life and now brings his grandchildren here.

I love how when I watched this episode as a kid I was like 'hmmm this is perfectly normal' but now I rewatched and I am like no way the person who wrote this was completely sober

I guess I understood what was happening as well because my brain is also a little fucked up. But a good way to explain would be like the book "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" where this orphanage is inside a time pocket of a place that was supposed to be destroyed by bombs in the war. And if they live the pocket they age untill the present time. But if they stop the time bubble the time just goes as normal on the past. And that is what happened on this episode? They went back when the place was created and everyone had normal life's but we've only seen what was happening in the present and not the past

If you've seen the original Jumanji movie, the end of the episode is like the end of the movie, when the curse was lifted everyone went back too their respective times as if they were never taken in the first place,in even simpler terns, because the curse no longer exists, history was changed

Ah yes, the episode where we possibly had a metaphor for a real event in a magical light and also travelled back in time and rewrote the timeline, but all the kids apparently remember what happened

I know i will sound like a nerd but being small is actually better in hot areas. Just look up Allen´s Rule if you wanna know more

Lol, I bet all the whovians had no problem with this. I feel like it’s not that complicated to understand, but sometimes having multiple friends who are all confused can make the confusion worse for everyone. It’s like a confusion feedback loop. They also managed to rewind before the key line that “explained” it. Basically - reset button. Everyone got to live out their lives as if the curse had never happened in the first place. But there were no memory-erasing shenanigans. Always just assumed the adults back in the 1930s either got killed or turned into toys. Either way, it kinda never happened, so they probably lived out their natural lives and died before the point (present day) when we see Elsgood. Tbh, I’m not sure if this “explanation” was easier to follow than the episode lmao

I understood this episode as a kid, it's pretty easy to get if you're paying attention. So basically the town was cursed and Mr Jingles believed that in order to break it he had to have Santa deliver perfect toys when in reality he just needed to deliver toys to break it, the kids turning into elves wasn't his doing it was just a natural consequence of the curse though he was exploiting them to make toys in his factory because he just thought that was part of a perfect Christmas, anyway onto the ending which you seem to be the most confused about (even though I understood it as a kid as it's really simple) they say in the episode that when they broke the curse it was as if it had never happened, basically time changed when they broke the curse and everyone that had ever been trapped in to since the curse first started now found themselves back in the new uncursed Holliday Village at the original day and age that they first entered the cursed Holiday Village and got the live the rest of their lives as if it had never happened (though they still had their memories of their time under the curse), additionally, Mr Jingles and Elvesgood are not the same person, Elvesgood was the kid that was helping them and is the old man that shows up at the end, and Mr Jingles was the guy running the village (or as you said they guy who kidnapped children) it's heavily implied at the end that since he was also never trapped in the village when the curse broke that he simply lived his life and died of old age ( which I think you guy would have got if you didn't yell and scream in confusion at something that's was being explained to you instead of just at least reading the explanation since you guys have the subtitles on.

The episode was weird but you’re also very dumb

This is one of the few instances where I was desperately hoping for 'and it was aaaaall a dream.' I imagined it was Ben in a fever dream from the heat. But... no. oy.
