Demi

I love both of these episodes, Alone together is a fantastic experience of an episode, and The Test is truly the start of Steven's Journey to becoming a leader for the group.

It's crazy looking back on all these moments with the Gems. I can't wait till you reach the season 1 finale. It gets real

Santiago

Love that they finally reached Stevonnie!!!! And they’re voice by AJ Michalka from the pop duo Aly & AJ who’re honestly my favorites. SO EXCITED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON AND SERIES 😭😭😭😭

Julio Castillo

My boy Kevin needs a little bit of Justice. It's true that his way of "hitting on" was a little aggressive... But he never did anything that crossed any kind of line, like he himself said... He just wanted to dance with someone of his level. And besides he didn't know the context like we do, he didn't know that he was talking with 2 kids. Also on the topic of the Alone Together episode.... A lot of people love it and i understand why... But looking at it in retrospect and analysing it based on the logic and symbolism the show itself gives us.... The episode turns out to be very disturbing.

Astro copjr8

I feel like it's crazy that most people put Kevin below certain other characters in tier lists

Fun Fact: what you saw sour cream doing, with all the game boys, is actually a glimpse at how most of the music in this series is made. The Test, to me, is one of the sweetest episodes of the first season. I know we're down to only one week until you're there, and I don't know how far ahead you guys record, but I'll still do my copy/paste for this week and next week in hope. Since you guys are moving through these so much faster now, I feel it's VERY important to note that both Hulu and HBOMax have incorrect episode orders at the end of Season 1/start of season 2. They're in order of when they aired, which got screwed up by Cartoon Network, so after Season 1, episode 45, they get screwy for a little bit. The Intended Viewing Order: S1 E46: Open Book (listed as S1 E51) S1 E47: Shirt Club (listed as S2 E3) S1 E48: Story for Steven (listed as S2 E2) S1 E49: The Message (listed as S1 E46) S1 E50: Political Power (listed as S1 E47) S1 E51: The Return (listed as S1 E48) S1 E52: Jail Break (listed as S1 E49) S2 E1: Full Disclosure (listed as S1 E50) S2 E2: Joy Ride (listed as S1 E52) S2 E3: Say Uncle (listed as S2 E1) From Season 2, episode 4, the episode order is normal for the rest of the series. Yes, though, this is how bad it was. I hope you guys see this, 'cause trust me, things feel very awkward otherwise. PS: I apologize in advanced, but I'll likely be copy/pasting this into future episodes for certainty, unless you guys tell me "Hey, we've seen it, we get it."

Demi

MMMmmm naw Kevin is a self absorbed rich douche that never really shows any redeeming qualities (at least in the original series, I haven't watched future so if anything happened with him there I have no clue) Now granted is he worse then certain other antagonists, definitely not, but he is the most real antagonist because he is the sort of person you can and probably have dealt with in real life, he is a narcissist through and through.

Julio Castillo

Yes, he is a narcissist but what I'm saying is that he never did anything worthy of Hate. His approach might have been upsetting, yes, but the hate that the fandom has on him is unjustified. He's just a self-absorbed and petty dude and that by itself it's definetly not worthy of all the hate he gets.

Stevonnieeee ❤❤❤❤

Alice Lapin

F*** Kevin. We hate Kevin. Screw Kevin.

Honey

I am so excited for you guys to learn more about Garnet. She is my favorite character by far

Vilmu

I mean, Stevonnie was visibly uncomfortable the whole time he was talking to them and even slapped his hand away because he was getting too close.

VJ Sins

Btw Stevonnie uses They/Them pronouns, and they are refered as such in the show. They may appear feminine but they are on a biological level intersex and they identify as non binary. Their identify was confirmed online and not in the show itself but their pronouns are in the show.

Julio Castillo

Yes, i know, all that is true....... But does he deserve all the hate he gets because of those things??? It's not like he was trying to assault them in any way... He was just being too forward about them dancing together.

Seraphem

Because people have dealt with douchebags like Kevin in their own lives far more then they've dealt with the kinds of massive scale villains other antagonists are. It's a far more real and relatable type of petty jerkishness, where as the one who very clearly have done far worse stuff, are doing things on a level that most people just, do not innately process since it's so far removed from their actual lives. While most people have to deal with pushy, creepy assholes far too often. It's the same in pretty much any story, you can have a massive, world threatening evil overlord who gloats about how evil he is and who is responsible for thousands if not millions of deaths, but if you have another antagonist who is just kind of a regular every day asshole, they will get far more actual hate, because it's that kind of everyday dickishness that people have to deal with in their own lives that hits their "Oh fuck that guy!" response harder. Kevin in this one, Umbridge over in Harry Potter, Diamond Tiara in MLP, The Northwests in Gravity Falls. People will hate the petty asshole far more then the world threatening Evil Bad Guy because it's just a far more real situation to them.

Vilmu

According to the show's creator, Stevonnie here represents going through puberty, suddenly needing to deal with a changed body and people treating you differently (maybe even objectifying you) because of it, which feels weird to you because you don't feel any different on the inside and you feel like you're still just you.

Seraphem

Oh, you like when the show gets real and deals with the stuff people go through all the time? Whooooo boy, strap in! But yeah, I do love how clear it is that the Gems do really care about Steven and are doing their best, while being aware they are flying blind and hoping it works out, and Steven gets that and sincerely appreciates the effort.

Honey

^^ They said in the most recent reaction (for silver tier patreons) that they are aware of the issue with the episode order! So they must have finally read your comments. Good job getting their attention in time!

Rez

Also make sure you guys check out the shorts and the extended intro before season two, it really fills in some much-needed information gaps. Plus, they’re super fun. I suggest you guys watch the one from Steven Universe on YouTube not the one from CartoonNetowrk because the audio is kind muffled.
