Hman straight lying on Boruto. The series is obviously made with the permission of the creator of Naruto. Boruto started as a movie which was written by the Kishimoto. He also did the Mitsuki one shot and Volume about Sarada, showing that he would like to expand on the universe. The boruto manga did not start written or drawn by the creator of Naruto, but recently the writer has quit and Kishimoto has started writing the story. This has been since around chapter 50. And when the Boruto manga started Kishimoto was also working on his next manga, Samurai 8, but since it was canceled quickly he has more time to he able to help with his Naruto franchise. I belive the reason Boruto has so much filler is because the anime started so quickly after the manga and since it is a monthly manga their was not enough chapters. The Boruto manga primarily focuses on team 7 and their sensei’s (Naruto Sasuke etc). So the anime makes anime canon and filler episodes in order to develop the other kids in the new generation. But ALOT of people HATE the new generation so the episodes are seen as pointless and dumb. Last year 2021 was the year that had the most manga content adapted, it went up to about chapter 55 then went back into filler. The manga is currently in the arc that seems like it is going to lead into the timeskip so the anime is probably waiting for that to finish before they continue adapting it.

If your checking how many chapters a manga has, please also check if it is monthly or weekly because 60 monthly chapters is not the same as 60 weekly. 60 monthly chapters is like 13-15 volumes, while 60 weekly is like 5-6 Volumes
