Talent Search! Are You a Voice Actor? (Patreon)

Hail all!  So, I've been thinking of maybe staging a little radio show or the occasional play reading, and I was wondering if we had any people here who are skilled at voice acting and would want to do a little radio voice acting if the opportunity should arise?  I'm particularly interested in any women who can act, because as talented as I am, I can't really do women's voices!

This is speculative only at the moment, but if we have any interest here and I have the folks to do it, I may go ahead and try this sometime in the near future.  Let me know!  (And ALSO, DISTURBEDFAN has posted a call for a little voice acting help in the Community section, so you might want to go check that out as well!)  :)

I think this is a great idea!! I look forward to such events with great fervor! Does our Overlord also need help with sound effects? They are a hallmark of old radio plays! I am sure a lot is available online, but if you need anything specific, don't hesitate to put out another casting call, Doomcock!!

Doomcock I would LOVE to voice act for you. Very good at mimicking voices and people keep telling me I have a radio voice (trained singer, dad was a musician, mainly blues).

I read stories to my kiddos...that's the extent of my acting. But if you need a lady voice, I have one!

I’m no pro, but I have read a lot of books out loud over the years. I’d love to be involved, but probably not as the best role! Ever see that old Frasier ep? You can keep a balloon and tack handy to shoot me if I can’t carry the role! Cheers.

Hi Doomcock! As you know I am not a woman but would be happy to help, and you have no doubt seen my acting at work in my Doctor Who videos. And in a similar vein, I am sure I can persuade my guest star, best friend and flatmate, Ella (Aeonne) to lend her voice to the cause.

I think what I'll do is just type up a scene, and we'll go ahead and try out on Discord...just to get an idea of who can do what in a rough sense.

Awesome! Like I said, I'll write up a sample, and then I'll be sure to hold a Discord session just to hear different people read. It won't be for specific parts, just to get an idea on who can do well with the format, and also just get an idea of how you act!

Yes, that's the only way to do this, with an audition (though it won't be for any specific part, just so I can get an idea of who can do what, it would be kind of a loose repertory company type of deal!
