Yes!  The people have spoken, and we now have a wonderful new official phrase with which to insult STD fans: Drekkies!  It is a perfect phrase, I felt it the instant I saw it...riffing off the familiar Trekkies designation, Drekkies conveys the fandom of STD and the degraded nature of that fandom.  I think it's stellar, and I look forward to using it with wanton abandon.

As should all of you!  So go forth, and the next time some idiot STD apologist gets in your virtual face, unleash the power of Drekkies and watch them stammer in rage at your disrespectful gatekeeping!

Trekkies rule!  Drekkies drool!

I am very pleased since I also had the brief experience of feeling like I had come up with the thing, only to find out that someone had beaten me to the punch at the beginning of the thread. I think it was noisy Bob, but I can't find it now. At any rate, I've been down with Drekkies from the get go. It's clever and succinct. A veritable rabbit punch to the adams apple of any pathetic Mikey Spock devotee. Truly anyone who hangs their hat on STD with the misconception that it is Star Trek, is deserving of this delicious slur. In some ways it's too good for these carriers of Space Herpes. I can't wait to see Doomcock use it on one of his videos.

Ah, but since you didn't know he had done it, you DID come up with it independently, just not before he did...a fine distinction, but one I'd happily cling to if I were you. It has the added advantage of being true! I really do love that term, for all the reasons you describe. It's pretty much perfect, and I wish I'd come up with it. Well done Noisy Bob!!!

I don't think we've heard the last of Discoveretards, especially in light of the fact that anyone who swallows that dystopian swill, surely deserves more than one insulting moniker. I think Drekkies and Discoveretards deliver a potent one two punch to that sorry lot who claim to be Star Trek fans. It's bad enough Star Trek being dead and all, but to watch these idiots parade about the internet carrying the dead and rotting corpse, well that's just adding insult to injury.
