Personal news and AireCon meetup! (Patreon)

Hey there patrons,

I have some extracurricular news to share with you all - I'm going to be a father! My wife Serena is pregnant and due to give birth in July 🥳

It's been a rocky road to this point, we lost two babies to miscarriage last year, and that has made the last 12 months a very nerve-wracking time. After the latest scan we feel ready to tell people.

Thank you for your support - it really has transformed my life. I couldn't imagine being a position to consider having a child when I started the channel 7 years ago. Having the consistency of a regular income gave me the confidence to get married and now start a family.

And I'm very excited for the future of the channel. We recently passed the 70,000 subscriber mark. And I've got an exciting new video on the way - looking at what makes modern board games so good. It's taking a little longer than I'd hoped (and February is shorter than hoped!), but I think it will be worth the wait. 

In other news, I will be going to AireCon convention in Harrogate, North Yorkshire again this year, from 9-12th March. Are any of you going to be there? If so, I'd like to try and arrange a meetup to play some Codenames or something together. Ideally, if you can join the Actualol Discord channel we can organise it there, but if not just reply to this post to let me know you'll be there (and which days) and I'll plan something.

I do also plan to be at the UK Games Expo this year. Sorry to all the non-UK patrons! I fear I'm too pale and polite to survive outside of these shores 😂
