We've recently taken up sleeving at my house. Until now we had two approaches: 1.) own so many games we never played one to the point it messed with the cards, 2.) play a game for a few plays, gift it, buy another copy. I did this with 5 copies of Fuse and multiple copies of Hanabi (Target unloaded them locally at like $2.50, so I bought half a dozen) until I finally sleeved the last one. That second option is actually a nice way to do it - you'd think people might think "really, used game?" but if you go into detail about why you are giving it to them....they generally appreciate it. I like to tell them it's "preshuffled".
