Today's new guide started as a quick'n'dirty way to cover a new X-Men title but turned into one of the most thorough single character guides I've created...

Domino - The Definitive Reading Order and Collecting Guide

Log in to CK to access this guide. Leave a comment if you do not have access to your CK login and I'm happy to help.

This guide helps to expand Crushing Comics' core of X-Men coverage, and since that's what brought so many of you to my site it is available to all Patrons from $1 and up. Thank you for your support!

Domino is a character I've always loved. Sure, she started out as part of an influx of X-TREME characters (and extreme T&A) in Liefeld's X-Force launch, but Domino is the rare 90s comics babe who has become much more than that while maintaining agency in her depictions as a sexy, sexualized character.

Domino has all the skill of Deadpool and all the leadership ability of Cable. She's funny, self-deprecating, and self-interested. She has a thing for big hunks of men and has no hesitance about making her affections known. She lead X-Force as a knowledgable friend rather than a commanding parent, and it shows in her continuing relationships with characters like Boom Boom and Warpath. She's a complex, damaged character whose trauma never entirely defines her.

That makes Domino a treat whenever she appears, as she has in all but one iteration of "X-Force" - making her the team's most-consistent cast member!

In reading her new ongoing series from Gail Simone, I realized that I've missed out on a lot of Domino's major development; I stopped reading comics in the 90s before the "Road Trip" era of X-Force and her pair of limited series.

Creating a guide for Domino was an excellent way to fill in the blanks and expand my love for the her character. I had no idea she had her powers tampered with, led X-Force for an extended period of time, or ran with a reformed Six Pack for several mercenary years.

This guide continues my quest to streamline single-character guides to be more useful for both brief reference and deep reading. This was a necessity for Domino, from whom the line between cast member and guest star can sometimes be blurry, and who spent a solid five years appearing simultaneously in two different books.

I don't know that I've gotten the balance perfectly right, but I'm happy with the results for this guide!

What's up next for comic guides? It's time to switch back to the realm of DC for a guide or two after this streak of smaller Marvel guides, especially because there is one DC character in particular whose absence from my guide page is about to be very conspicuous.

There's also another small X-Men-related guide I'd like to quickly knock out given some of this week's NYCC announcements.

As always, I value your feedback - both on this new guide and in general. Don't hesitate to comment to let me know your thoughts - including what's on your most-wanted guides list!
