Darkhawk - The Definitive Reading Order and Collecting Guide

Darkhawk wasn't the most-obvious pick for me as the guide I should complete next. Or a guide I should complete ever.

Yet, as I considered my upcoming schedule of guides and goals for CK over the weekend, Darkhawk presented itself as a quick, simple guide to test out some new processes behind the scenes.

On the Marvel side of Crushing Comics, we're nearly through all of the major characters and teams who have anchored more than one in-continuity solo series for a year or more. There's Ka-Zar, Blade, Morbius, a certain symbiote (whose guide is almost finished!), and not too many others. 

After that, I'm moving on to supporting characters with occasional solo series, like Vision and Falcon. Those heroes are considerably more time-consuming to create a guide to explain, because I have to at least skim almost every issue across decades of history and hundreds of issues. 

(For reference, Darkhawk's guide took about a third as long as Scarlet Witch's guide - about the same as a longish blog post.)

I have some ambitions for promoting the Marvel side of Crushing Comics that require me to have really wide coverage of most Marvel ongoing titles. Like, maybe as much as 90% of in-continuity ongoing titles covered in guides. Meanwhile, a new class of heroes are becoming the anchors of the Marvel Universe - and they need guides too!

It's not a coincidence that Darkhawk is one of the older heroes getting a one-shot in Marvel Legacy. You're going to see a burst of these smaller guides for characters who have been reawakened in Legacy before I hop back over to the DC side of things. 

I hope you enjoy reading these new guides as much as I'm enjoying putting them together. I love exploring the more obscure corners of Marvel's Universe.

If you haven't noticed, I posted daily on CK in November (including tons of guide update) and continue to do so. Plus, the Crushing Comics YouTube show finished November with 30 videos in 30 days(!) and has extended to become an ongoing series with new episodes continuing every weekday on my YouTube channel. 

I'll have more news on more new video in the coming weeks (plus a special something for Crushing Comics Club members later this week).
