Essentially, I get frustrated when I see numerous posts from other creators, #nudist / #naturist s, #sexEd / #kinkEd and #sexWorkers , #toplessEquality activists like me (I assume there must be others out there, but I haven't found any yet), complain about the constant hypocritical censorship on mainstream platforms like Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, etc etc etc, yet they never try alternative platforms like Mastodon and Peertube (and mostly any other federated/decentralized platform that isn't run by a monolithic, capitalism-driven algorithm-moderated corporation) because "no one uses them" which 1. isn't true and 2. if we pretend it IS true, why would people start using them if you won't post to them in the first place?!

For years now, I've been posting to BOTH mainstream platforms AND alternative platforms, and while it is often exhausting and extremely time-consuming (the biggest time constraint is having to apply an ever more ridiculous amount of self-censorship to my posts before they go on mainstream platforms, where they often still get banned anyway thanks to the weaponization of false flagging by haters who want to see an outspoken feminist like me deplatformed), but I think it's important for one main reason--beyond the fact that very few people can even find my content on mainstream platforms (whenever it's not banned outright, it's almost always shadowbanned), eventually non-nazi and/or bubblegum-pop-tiktok-only viewers WILL reach a stopping point, where the pro-hatespeech anti-women, anti-lgbtq, anti-non-capitalism-friendly progressive content platforms will behave SO egregiously that even those who have been conditioned to default to these abusive (yes, abusive) platforms no matter how they're mistreated will finally put their foot down and migrate elsewhere. IT's already happening in large part to Twitter, and even as many leftist twitterits flee to nearly-identical centralized platforms like bluesky (founded by an antivaxxer tech bro) and threads (helloooo, it's run by facebook?!?!), eventually they're going to have to realize if they truly want to escape anti-progressive censorship, they need to do so on places that don't reward advertiser-friendly content (that somehow includes white nationalists and antivaxxers, but not topless equality activists or kink educators), places like, again, Mastodon, Peertube, and others in that decentralized vein.

Sorry I know the above is word-salad, I'm trying to write this up quickly before I get ready for today's four-times-a-week livestream. Hopefully I've made the point that if your motivation for not using non-abusive social media and video hosting platforms is "nobody uses them," maybe you can be the trailblazer who, idk, uses them, so that there's something there for newcomers to see, os that they themselves will start using them?? You don't even have to be original about it...post the exact same content that you do to mainstream platforms there if you want, although you don't HAVE to ridiculously censor them as much as you do for mainstream media (just use content warnings liberally). I mean, I'm busy as hell and I do it....maybe you can too ;p
