About six months later, they pulled over a truck because it had a broken tail light. The driver was an incredibly hot construction worker. When Luke asked for his license, he replied, “Of course, Sir.”

Luke and Jack shared a glance. They explained about the taillight, and the driver responded, “it’s not my truck, Sir, but I will be sure to let the company know. Is there anything else I can do for you, Sir?” he asked Luke. “Either of you, Sirs,” he said looking at Jack.

“What time does your shift end,” Jack looked at the license,” Cory?”

“Around 5, Sir.”

“Let me see your phone,”Jack said. Cory handed it to him without any hesitation. Jack typed in some information. “Be at our place by 6. The address is in your phone.”

“Should I clean up, Sir?”

Jack smiled. “Out, yes, up no.” Jack leaned his head in and sniffed. “You smell just fine as you are.”

“Thank you Sirs.”

Once Cory had driven away, Luke turned to Jack. “He’s a sub? How did you know so quickly?”

“He called you Sir not Officer. That was the first clue, but mostly it’s in the eyes. That need to serve a worthy man. Surely, you’ve seen it with Max and Wes.”

Luke nodded. “You think he could be the one?”

Jack raised an eyebrow. “I guess we’ll see soon enough.”

(I had to throw in a construction worker--they were very close to cops in the poll).
