Behold, the mighty 'colored shadows' (pictured below).

These colored shadows are versatile af. I've used them in creating fake glows around lights. Left is with the colored shadows, right is without. 

At first, I really thought I was going to place individual light sources on every single one - that would've been completely stupid but totally something I would do.

I've also previously used these shadows in creating rays of light peeking through windows or have used them for its intended purpose of serving as a character shadow.

Speaking of shadows, I used 4 (four) lights this time and the studio really didn't like that - well at least not on my system. You can see in the picture below roughly where 3 of these lights are in the scene with the fourth one being global. Moving forward I'll stick to 3 max because things get pretty unstable.

I've also been running through the Material Editor and tweaking objects to fit a little better. I'm still trying to understand what some fields do but it's a learning process. Picture below compares the tweaked tree to the default (right).

Anyway, today is December 18 and I realise now that I have very little time to complete the next animation (#20) before Christmas Eve... challenge accepted.
