I can never hear this song and not feel uncomfortable but Im not surprised because of their Ceo/ Producer Min Hee-jin and her past with minors/ pedophilla and her being one of the the reason SM doesnt debut minors anymore. And this is not the first time this happens in kpop like you said. Many girl group members even back in 2nd gen were minors and were heavily sexualized and no blinked an eye. Hyuna who also debut at 14 spoke out about feeling worried about New Jeans and their mental health and I think that tells you everything

i think what truly saved new jeans in the industry in regards to this "concept" is being in a sub-label of hybe. and no i'm not a company stan by any means. but i would be more worried if they were underneath a different company entirely (this is because almost every company has some sort of weird, or gross allegations about oversexualizing, inappropriately marketing and/or blatantly being crude about their minors) . at the end of the hybe labels is run primarily by bang pd and i truly don't believe that this concept with new jeans didn't stick because of it and the backlash. i don't like cookie simply for the context of the lyrics even if its meant to be cute (like you all said in the other video) it still has all those innuendos and stuff that just make it...a bit disturbing to the ear when you're actively thinking about it knowing hyein (?)'s age etc. but in turn though when it came to stages etc during this debut new jeans were never sexualized, put in over revealing clothes or given sexy/sexual choreography, even with the type of song they were promoting. and i wonder if it was because of attention and hype boys success that they deviated from this vibe. when you hear hype boy, attention, ditto, omg and hurt you almost forget cookie even exists lmao. i think without him having the mentality he has (not to mention new jeans already closeness with the rest of the hybe family that i'm sure would burn the building down if that was the case) that they could have gone disgustingly down hill fast with that original concept + heejin's "situation". i do want to ask though, do you guys think sexy/darker concept is completely off limits for groups that have minors? and if so do you also find it weird when groups move to a sexy concept after the youngest member meets appropriate age? do you guys like sexy concepts in older groups? or is something like new jeans over all (minus cookie) more appealing?

sucks to hear the situation about this track cause they’re SO talented this choreo is one of their best so far
