This is a performance from the show The Next. Hua Hua was a mentor on this show. In this show amateur singers could challenge the mentor (professional) singers. The mentor singer has to sing a song chosen by his challenger and has only 24 hours of time to rearrange, sometimes compose new parts or write lyrics (if given a lyricless song), learn and perform it on stage. The challenger can sing whatever song he/she wants and have a lot more time to prepare. If the challenger wins he/she goes to the next round or have to leave the show if he/she loose. Hua Hua was so good at this show that at one point no one dared to challenge him anymore. Haha. You should check out his duet with Su Shiding from this show. The song is called Nanping Evening Bell. Hua Hua helped her win the first season of the show.

To clarify the singer competition show he was on was all professional established musicians not people looking for record deals. There show is on another level compared to American idol or x factor etc. He was on two seasons 2018 and 2020 and Dimash was 2017. I wonder if you would be into watching a full season with English subs to react to all the full episodes. You can find them on YouTube. I love live performances myself versus music videos.
