Thank you for the reaction to the live. BTS always better live. By the way, did you see the Superbowl halftime show? Hobi did and posted. Also Epik High just dropped their new album. Both were BTS influences...

Nellie Z

Commenting again...was never really into rap until BTS and I'm almost 50 so I grew up listening to all the OGs when they came on top 40 radio. So my top 5 back then and now are different. All I remember for back then is Eminem even though, I sometimes got offended. Now, it's BTS, Epik High

Thank you, I love this song. You can clearly hear how these artists inspired their rap style. Where are Keith and my twin Lo when we need them? 💜

Damnn RM name-dropped KRS One, Eric B, and Rakim? that surprised me tbh. I respect him even more now

I am so glad you got around to this one. This song was produced by PDogg, he did a great job. And he helped RM, Suga, and J-hope write. those are the only names credited officially for this song. They performed this during the red bullet tour. I got to go to a few shows of the extended tour which took place in 2015, They performed this live and it was.... amazing doesn't even really cover it. I think, if I can remember corrctly- this was the 5th.. or 6th song they performed. Out of a total of like 26 songs... though at NY show we didn't get the full set, but I already talked about that. I remember this being one of my favorite live performances of the night, because they were just so into it. Despite having performed this a lot on tour at that point, they had this aura when they performed this. Every song can give off different vibes, this one they were feeling it, and feeling themselves. I remember Jin surprising me at that time because even though he use to say he would listen to rap and hip hop growing up... Jin just usually gives off a vibe of- sweet guy who really likes pop music or trot, or even pansori. But watching him when they performed this was like... whoa. It was just a whole new side to Jin I hadn't seen at that point. Now is different of course. but yeah, they were all feeling it and it's great to see that even though not all of them are considered the rappers of the group- all 7 have love and respect for Hip hop. I think I've mentioned this before, but my sister is nearly 11 years older than me, and I grew up with all kinds of music from Rock and Metal to Hip hop and even classical music. I used to listen to whatever my sister did because well... she was cool to me. So, for Hip hop artists/ rappers I listened to a lot of Salt N Pepper, Beastie Boys, 2pac, Eminem, and Public Enemy. My sister also used to love annoying our mother by playing Missy Eliot on full blast too lol. That alongside Drunken Tiger, Epik High, and Seo Taiji and the boys when my cousin would visit. I think our neighbors hated us, or thought we were weird. I am really hoping you get around to showing this performance and song to the other guys. I would love to see the other's reactions too. As always, thanks for the great content. 💜💜

Definitely loved hearing Joon mention 2 of my idols Jay Z and 2Pac as well as some of my favorite albums Suga’s ability to channel all that passion and express it fluidly is amazing That being said J Hope definitely had my favorite verse on this song from the bars to his flow to the name drops I had to run it back a couple times 🔥

I feel you Nick, I feel like it's almost impossible now for them to sing their old songs or b-sides as they will pick their most popular songs first or stick to the songs of the album they currently promote. They have so many songs lol. But the Muster concerts, which are fan events in SK, are actually great for that because they perform whatever they want as tributes, surprises and gifts for the fans. They even do skits. The 5th Muster is my favorite, they performed unexpected songs like Whalien 52, Spinebreaker, Jump, Best of me, Dimple, Ddaeng, Satoori rap, Ma City etc. SK fans are so lucky 😭

Alex Turnbull

Yes! Love this one and the live just completes it so well. A few other really underrated songs like this are The Stars and the other one is 2nd Grade. Check them out, also cant wait till next week i think you mentioned you checking out Hope's stuff since his birthday is coming up! Hope we here Hansang...maybe or Hopeworld.... :)

April Forgue

I heard thier next album is going to be more hip-hop hope that's true.

Joua Xiong

All their live performances are just so good! Can’t wait for more!

While BTS absolutely kills it when they have to do choreo w/ a song I think they shine best when they adlib most of it and add bits and pieces of choreo. Like you have to do a BTS medley with a full panel. Run, Fire, Dope, and Bapsae are usually in a medley b/c they will forever be fan favorites. Songs that are amazing performed w/o choreo are Wings, Love Myself, Anpanman and So What.

after listening to jerrick (? i may have spelled it wrong) speak on this idk why but it makes sense on why he ?? has such a high bar to meet in reactions very insightful to listen to

MoonChild88

Can you imagine if, one day, they would perform some of the old bsides? Damn, we would lose our shit lol

Erica Phifer

Top 5. RM, Suga, Hobi, gaeko, zico

Anonymous

Gaeko was the first Korean artist I ever heard of and liked… I actually learned the chorus Dynamic Duo’s song AEAO phonetically without even studying the language… we reacted to it but it got lost or deleted by mistake Zico is 🔥 too

Anonymous

Right, I was impressed by his perceptive and insightful comments.

Madison

I don't think i have a top 5 but: Block B, BTS, and IKON all have strongg rap lines

I remember I never but never paid attention to "Hip Hop Lover"...just don't call my attention for some reason but one day last year I decided to give it a chance and once I heard it it became one of my favorites at the first listen LOL, love the rythm, the lyrics of course, the combination of the rap with the vocal line parts (which BTS master it long time ago) my favorite part is Suga so I understand Jerrick emotion when he heard it, but all the guys did it fantastic as usual, tks for the reaction!

man I love jerrick

Another very personal song for the rappers. The lyrics tell the rappers personal stories. Also, please react to Let Go. the stage mix). It's a song about the period in early 2018 when they thought of breaking up. The pressure of success, amongst others stressors, became overwhelming for them.
