i also love the vibe i wish more kpop groups did stuff like this, just a overall vibe with some sensual aspects. also minho is a “rapper” but i would say he more fast talks 💀 and key also “talk raps” sometimes but he’s a great vocal too

FINALLYYYYYY SHINEEEEEEE

Fun fact. Shinee are trend setters in kpop. They are always ahead of the game. This song is what introduced deep house to kpop. After this many many kpop artist did this genre. This was one of the first times Shinee got creative control of their music and styling. Jonghyun wrote this song and Key styled them. Key has gone on to style Shinee not only during comebacks, but also during concerts. Key is now Shinee’s fashion director. He has to work hard for that role. He actually had to make vision boards and go to multiple meetings at SM to get the role. All of Shinee are incredible.

Just to touch on the Jonghyun situation a little more, it was more than just the pressure for him, he had been battling depression for years and at that time in Kpop depression wasn't talked about let alone treated in a serious way. He had mentioned it countless times but he never really got any help for it and this unfortunately led to what happened. Now there is so much speculation on why and its a combination of depression, online haters, and many other factors. I just wanted to give a little more context to this situation and yes many idols were present at his funeral, and yes it does happen in other groups and with other celebrities actually, a couple years ago In 2019 Goo Hara (KARA) and Sulli (F(x)) also committed suicide. Thank you for checking out for SHINee!

This is my favourite Shinee title on my favourite album. So Jonghyun wrote this song based on a fans story with synaesthesia. This video was shot in Thailand and yes they kidnapped Shinee so they could have fun 😅. Can't wait for you to check out Shinee live they go crazyyyyy. THis is my favvv set they've done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z62LsMQ-_g

If I'm not mistaken this song introduced the house genre into kpop and this was one of the first times Key got to style them (He's the head stylist for Shinee now). I think they got a lot of flack for their outfits back then cuz a lot of idols didn't dress really casual like that for a stage too. What's crazy is after this era a lot of idols were styled similarly

Shinee are arguably one of the best performers in kpop. They are known for their live vocals. They are so bad at lip syncing. I can’t wait until you react to their live performances. “Excuse me miss” is iconic. I also love “Stranger” and “Evil”. “Spoiler” is also amazing because jonghyun wrote it and it was the first song on one of there albums it spoiled all the songs on that album lol. They are known for their RnB songs and also for their experimental tracks. I highly recommend the live for their song “Romantic”. It is one of my favorites. Shinee are an anomaly for SM. They had no teasers before debut. In fact most of them didn’t even know they were going to debut until about 5 days before. Their parents did not know either….however Shinee debuted with “replay” (widely known as the best debut in kpop) and they were incredible. They sang live for their debut stage and people fell in love. They won every single rookie award in the major award shows in 2008. They were the first kpop group to do that (it is now called a rookie grand slam) They were 14-18) when they debuted (which is why Taemin is considered a legend in kpop) he debuted so young and has now debuted in 3 generations of kpop. That is why is so respected by the entire kpop community. He is just as old as some of these 3rd generation kpop idols and yet he debuted 3-6 years before them. Shinee are so incredible and I can’t wait for you all to see that ☺️❤️ They are the group that got me into kpop in 2008. They are my ult group. The loss of Jonghyun was huge in the kpop world and opened up the discussion on mental health in not only the idol world..but in Korea as a whole. Jonghyun was extremely open about his desperation and his anxiety. Mental health was not treated seriously in Korea or in kpop at all. His loss was huge. He was well loved in the kpop world. He was the first sm artist to have an album written by himself. He also wrote song produced music for several other artist in kpop. He was influential and extremely well loved by everyone. Well over half the industry came to his funeral. Many 2nd and 3rd gen artists came to his funeral. His passing changed how people viewed mental health. His mom opened up a foundation for young artist and people struggling with mental health. It is a day I will never forget. He was in so much pain…but now he is at peace. We all miss him…but he has left behind a legacy and his music and voice and thoughts and books that will be cherished for many generations to come 💎

Yeah I read about the situation and some factors. I didn’t want to speak on it too much cause I don’t want to assume why someone took their life. Definitely want to discuss pressure in K-pop soon

yes guys in this video were the 5 members (including Jonghyun back then ) one of my favorite songs of them, hope you also can dive more into SHINee's discography, is very eclectic and you have a whole set to choose from...another recommendation is "Married to the Music" I want to see you react to this one so badly lol, I am sure will blow your minds, thanks for the reaction :D

Jonghyun wrote the lyrics to this song!! And Key helped persuade SM to use his lyrics!! I’m really happy to see you guys dive into Shinee and I look forward to your journey!! Hope you guys watch a guide that showcases how much of pioneers Shinee was to the K-pop world and why they were heavily labeled as the Princes of K-pop. They are known as the trendsetters of K-pop from music (first to introduce deep house and dubstep to K-pop), dance (first to post choreography videos that seems so natural to the K-pop world now) and fashion (aka Shinee Trend). They were also the first to sweep all the Rookie of the Year awards now known as the Grand Slam Rookies. Only 6 groups til now have achieved this, Aespa being the most recent. FYI Obama is a shawol!!! Mentioned them in one of his speeches :)

There’s so much to talk about Jonghyun and I do hope you guys get to check out a video about him as well, he truly made an impact in the K-pop world, both living and after. He truly paved the way for idols, especially in SM, to be given creative freedom in songwriting and music production. He wrote and composed many songs for Shinee, SM artists like Exo and even artists outside of his label. And paved the way for cross-label collabs. He was an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and used his fame to help those in need. He was a well- respected artist to everyone. His death shook the entertainment industry and South Korea entirely, shedding light on the importance of mental health, which he was very open about considering how taboo it was. He struggled with depression and anxiety for years. Jonghyun’s mother founded the Shiny Foundation after his passing that helps underprivileged children/ aspiring artists become successful in the arts and provide services like mental health. He continues to inspire many to this day. Forever 5hinee!! https://youtu.be/kVBVxhGkam8 Very emotional performance from Shinee at a Memorial Concert they did for Jonghyun a year after his passing. The vocals from these guys are amazing, considering they were very emotional and the song they performed was heartbreaking. Brings me to tears from sadness and pure awe every time I watch it.
