That guest actor (Koo Kyo Hwan) is an INCREDIBLE actor....he doesn't act MUCH in dramas (he's done way more movies and actually directed quite a bit) but whenever he shows up he is absolutely incredible. In addition to popular fair, he's also incredibly well respected by the korean film critic and indie side and has won numerous awards on both sides

right, the guy did a bad thing by kidnapping the children, but he had pure intentions to let them free from their parents’ ambitions. i feel so bad for the kids for having no life and just studying 12 hours a day like... what the hell? it’s just too much! and i read online that this really happened in korea🥲 (correct me if im wrong). also i totally agree that it’s too late to play and enjoy childhood when you grow older, living in a life full of anxiety, and paying the bills🙂. it seems like he's tryna help the children but also heal himself from his own trauma. such an interesting episode.

yeah, ive seen him in a movie called Kill Boksoon. He's a great actor

I liked this one and the brother inheritance episodes because it had issues that we just aren’t aware of over here (America). Like keeping kids in Academy’s studying until 8 or 10 at night. It’s interesting to learn about these things. Plus, finally Jun ho finally said it back. So adorable! 😍 and yes, I think Kwon said he had a reporter friend that he brought to that other case. It’s the same guy but I think that reporter was already looking into the CEO of Taesan., Tae Soo-mi because she’s going up for that higher position. I could be wrong though

Yeah i was wondering as well if he was already on her case himself too. Then another part of me was wondering if this was Kwon’s second attempt at trying to get to take Young Woo down, but idk, he can’t be that terrible lol

the one popular drama that really made him known to the general public in korea was D.P. on netflix opposite Jung Hae In who is a long time A+++ heart throb (he's the one who acted opposite BP Jisoo in her acting debut). They play a pair of military cops who chase after military deserters which sounds like it'll be a standard action-y type drama but the drama itself was incredibly emtoional and really highlighted a lot of problems with the military and it's mental health effects on soldiers. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend even if you watch it on your own time

2024-01-23 15:09:42 So glad you enjoyed this episode! It’s definitely one that makes you think, precisely for the reasons you mentioned. I’m in the same boat- I totally understand where the parents are coming from but I see where the “Mr Fart” is coming from and I agree that kids should be allowed to be kids. However, he did go about it the wrong way but he knew that going into it and hence, was not trying to avoid jail time. He was willing to accept the consequences as long as he got his message out one way or another. Like another commenter mentioned, apparently it is very real in Korea that kids study for long hours which is really sad. Like a few of the other eps, I believe this ep is to expose the harsh academic culture of Korea that a lot of people are probably not aware of. This is exactly why this show is so great! And of course, Junho’s confession at the end was just so lovely!

I think the reporter was following Tae Soomi and that’s why he was there at the end. Not sure he’d have any reason to be at the dad’s restaurant otherwise, even as a friend of Kwon’s,

I think I read something that said many (all?) of the cases in the show were based on real trials that a retired lawyer published a book about (or at least referenced them in some way).
