Ruby was TY's dog who passed away few years ago. He wrote this song then and kept it until this album. It could be interpreted as a song about your dog or pet but also about someone, anyone really that you love very much or about someone you loved and lost.

This part of Ruby's lyrics are Taeyong's letter to Ruby back then...ㅠㅠㅠ 🎶If we meet again in the next life, Let's be each other's point of view, And fill the regrettable part of each other. Let's make sure to do that🎶

taeyong wrote and composed all the songs on the album. Ruby was about his dog that passed away on 2021 and he wrote the song at the time. he kinda explained the songs in the trailer and choose T or Y video. you gotta check them they are so interesting and cool.

loved this album! i'm so proud of taeyong. my favorite song from the album is definitely ruby, my other two faves are 404 file not found & virtual insanity.

The last song, is actually heartbreaking to know that he went through troubled times, but I think it's about moving forward and owning up to the mistakes that were made when he was young. thank you so much for reacting to taeyong's album! this is actually his official solo debut since his previous releases have been either SM stations or soundcloud tracks. he wrote and composed all the songs and worked with his producer friends as well! this album took 4 years to make. shalala grows on me with every listen even though i enjoyed it from the first time i heard it! it's genuinely so catchy LOL. gwando means 'quit' in korean, and he wrote this song with his friend who was going through a tough time in his relationship. taeyong played a snippet of move mood mode on live a few years back so i was happy that it made it on the album! virtual insanity is actually a remastered version of 'GTA 2', which was released on his soundcloud in 2021 (his songs on there are amazing!). ruby is probably my favorite because i think it is a beautiful song in all aspects, especially knowing he wrote this shortly after ruby (his dog) passed in 2020. the last few lines of the song are actually what he wrote in his letter to ruby when she passed. 404 file not found is more introspective, and i love the emotional vulnerability and honesty he shows in this song. i also love the production. back to the past makes me feel nostalgic for his childhood and also just how far he has come in his life and career. overall, this album really shows taeyong's artistic color and it is something he is very proud of, as he should be! if you have time, you should check out the video "definition of TAEYONG" on NCT's youtube channel bc he provides background on each of the tracks! also check out his soundcloud, that's where his solo journey began! thank you again for reacting and for supporting taeyong :)
