Idk why but I’m addicted to I Can’t Sleep! I absolutely love it and feel like it would be amazing live

I'm literally obsessed by the whole album. Villan chorus kinda reminds me of the Real Slim Shady lol. Think that Bound is my favourite along with Gasoline and Delight because I just love Key's head voice/lower register but I love them all.. Proud is my least favourite musically but I love the lyrics and concept so much. Gasoline is just epic and I keep noticing new things every time I watch it. Key did a bit of a breakdown of the tracks on his love countdown which is on YouTube to watch. Can't link you as I have a new tablet that I'm still figuring out. Altogether Kibum has smashed though. Both Bound and Gasoline comeback stages are up as well as the Studio Choom.

Thank you so much for reacting to the album!! 😍 I particularly like the first half of the album more than the second half, however, the more I listen to the songs, the more I like them all! At this moment my favorite is Bound and this was confirmed after watching Mcountdown that KEY performed this song! I'm curious to see the performance that KEY will do at Music Bank with Jeno in a few hours 😁 About G.O.A.T and I Can't Sleep, I'm sure they both have deeper meanings because KEY wrote the lyrics (as well as co-wrote Gasoline and Proud). KEY said that G.O.A.T was inspired by his father and Proud in his mother's diary, but I don't remember if he said anything about I Can't Sleep 🤔

Just to finish, I'm glad you're interested in reacting to KEY's first album and I highly recommend reacting to Bad Love mini-album when possible as it's a wonderful album! I also hope to see reactions from the comebacks and who knows about Studio Choom's performance 😁 (I think I'm wanting a lot right? 😂)

I'm really happy you reacted to this! This album is already so special to me, it's just so cohesive and tells a story and you can tell it's very key/personal. G.O.A.T is about not knowing whether he is a true adult and if he’s on the right track but then deciding in the end that its going to be what he makes out of it. He said he wrote this song when started thinking about his dad and how he remembers when he was little his dad/parents being the age that he is now (30) and so that makes him wonder if he's a true adult now but also the idea of being "stable" adult in the traditional sense makes him anxious as well so this song is him coming to terms with those feelings and I think realizing that there isn't one way to be. (I think him saying you're the greatest is just like a self affirmation, live in the moment where you are) I can't sleep is about anxiety and overthinking and insomnia and just all the feelings that go with it. I think it speaks to where he is in his life this in-between phase (which relates to GOAT) and how he hates that these anxieties keep him up and he can't do anything about it, which is very relatable. I also think he’s also saying even if I have a nightmare it might be better than being awake because its like never ending (a world with no morning) and I think he also dreads having to go through this cycle so he says "I hate the night coming more than the morning." These two songs I think just dive into his anxieties a little. He's talked a lot recently about being anxious about not knowing how he fits in as someone who is 30 in this industry (how will he know if he's outdated?) obviously he's still young but at the same time there's a new generation coming in. I love how that despite that he's affirming to himself that he's thriving (gasoline) and doing his own thing (villain) and that his younger self would be happy (proud). Also FYI what you reacted to was the snippet to proud that he released before the album! There's a whole second verse to the song :) It's such a great song please check it out.

Thank you for this explanation! What is the source? Sorry... I could not think of better words to use. I would love to read or watch what you saw. Through reading your explanation, I learned that these songs resonate with me more than I thought, lol

Noura

He talked about it during the live countdown and his press conference :)

This billboard article just came out too and talks about it (perfect timing) https://www.billboard.com/music/pop/key-gasoline-solo-album-interview-shinee-1235133296/

Key spoke about the meaning of G.O.A.T in an interview, basically it's just saying that you don't have to worry about "growing up" or being the greatest all the time. You're living your life in the moment so you're the greatest of all time that way.
