so glad that you enjoyed this performance! I think their japanese concerts are on a whole different level, and Taemin's japanese concerts too these fanchants always give me chills. there is something so powerful about seeing the Tokyo Dome full of fans and just the five of them performing on a plain stage but with so much energy and stage presence that it fills the entire stadium while hearing the loud audience's cheers. even watching the DVD of their concerts it feels like you're there in person and it's a whole experience, I can't imagine how much better it is for the people who are able to experience it live, especially SHINee's concert. they sold out this stadium with 110,000 people (2 days, 55K each day) and it was their very first concert at Tokyo Dome. they have sold out tours in Japan since then. I remember how in their interview from 2018 Taemin chose to show this particular stage as the way to introduce SHINee to non-fans. and seriously these outfits... Key was crazy for designing them. and did you know that on top of being fashion director for SM and designer for SHINee he was also an editor in fashion magazines like ELLE? 🤯 I just think it's insane how multitalented and hardworking this guy is. he auditioned together with 8000 others & was the only one from those 8000 who got accepted into SM. but despite being an amazing vocalist/rapper and a great dancer he was always voted last in any categories out of the 5 members and it gave him so much self doubt that he told the company that he also wanted to work as a fashion director. but look at how popular and successful he is now, as a shinee member, soloist, host of multiple variety shows and actor. I love how this group is just a bunch of hardworking and talented individuals that have such different personalities, vibes, ways of expressing themselves both in the group and solo, but manage to work together so well. just like their voices 🤔 they all sound completely different from one another, with different ranges, tones and textures, and you wouldn't think they'd go well together, but when they harmonize they sound like no other, so beautiful like they were made to make each other shine (😀). I hate SM for treating their artists poorly, but they're really smart when it comes to forming their groups, it will never cease to amaze me.

I am excited for all this SHINEE content. One of my favorite live stages is when they performed Excuse Me Miss so I hope you react to that one eventually. Also you will never forget who Key is if you watch his solo stage that came from this concert Born to Shine...Taemin is my bias but he for real wrecked me with that one.

oh btw may I suggest another live stage for them? 😬 I'm sure you have enough recommendations but... this performance of Odd Eye - an R&B b-side from their 'Odd' (2015) album, written, co-composed & arranged by Jonghyun - is a must watch, seriously they all looked CRIMINALLY good at that concert, the song is great and the performance is so 🥵 I think you need to see it lol. this performance sits at the same table as their 'Excuse me miss' https://youtu.be/h504A_mJbN0

Yey so glad you are checking out their live stuff, they are amazing live both as a group and for their solo concerts and they perform like this for around 3hrs with just quick costume changes. You get to hear so many of their great b-sides with the concert performances too. After watching the concerts online it’s difficult not to hear the fan chants when you just listen to their songs 😂

Shawol fan chants are next level! I also just wanna let you know that SHINee does sing everything live but SM likes to edit the sound and slap studio versions over the official liveshows sometimes. Fan chants are such a wonderful part of kpop concert culture, I can't wait for it to be covid safe enough for them to be allowed again. Shawols are famous for being some of the loudest with chants and brightest with our lightsticks! Tokyo Dome is THE venue, many groups consider it their greatest goal and pride to be invited to perform there. This was the same concert as Born To Shine which you've seen now! Onew's windmill arms are iconic, his hands would always go bright red from the blood rushing to his fingers. It's exhausting just to watch any of their concerts in full, they have superhuman levels of stamina.
