Hello everyone, it is time for another devblog.

Now that the game-jam is over I'll be going back to full-time development for the next Fattening Career update, this update will mostly focus on improving the classroom content. You'll be able to interact with a few female classmates and have more diverse topic that Daisy can teach about.

But the thing I wanted to talk the most about is The Gain Trials and what I learned developing this.

This was the first game-jam I entered and I felt 2 weeks was quite a reasonable amount of time to make a decently sized game, so I made some plans on what the game would look like.
I set out to make a management game where you'll have to collect milk, sell it and buy ingredients to make your subjects fatter/generate more milk. The plan was to have ~11 stages per character and make it fully animated.

I quickly realized that it wasn't going to work like I envisioned it. The management aspect was insanely boring/grindy, there were many things I couldn't animate yet and writing new dialogue for every stage is a lot of work. So I had to cut loads of content and basically put out the game unfinished.

So I decided, together with MarkJ94 that we'll make a finished version of The Gain Trials.
MarkJ94 will be working on finishing all the dialogue and working out some of the planned gameplay elements. Then after finishing the Fattening Career 0.08 update, I will go finish all the visuals and programming and release a full version of The Gain Trials.

So besides all that, I learned a lot with this little game, I experimented with real-time WG/BE/inflation in animations, made loads of progress improving soft body physics during motion, tried out some subtle cellulite/veins/stretchmarks and found a better workflow for fixing the collisions with extreme sized bellies/breasts.

I'm happy with how the visual turned out, and with the existing early game dialogue(before it repeats), I'm just not happy with the "game" overall and I really want to make sure to set things right.

I agree with all of the comments above (except Krystal best girl), but I just really wanted to comment on the stretchmarks. When you did the poll I wasn’t the biggest fan, but if you do them in the future like you did in The Gain Trials, then I am completely on board with them being added to FC - they looked awesome. The same of course goes for the other new things you tried animation-wise. It all looked really great in this short little game.

Grat game! All new effects such as cellulite/veins/stretchmarks are wonderful addition to the game. I adore such small things and I hope that they will be added to FC. I can see the great progress of your work through the beginning of the FC till now. Not only every update is more polished than last, but stories are better and more complex. Keep it up!!

Wow played it abit more after they got fatter it got funner Still minorily repetitive but yh I just has to be patient lol. If you can work out a economic simulation it would likely make stuff like milk management alot funner.
