End of year report 2023 (Patreon)

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had an amazing time last night and a good year all-around.

The current work we have released this year is as follows:

-1 Hamtaro revamped episode.
-Hamtaro Number&Shapes Special.
-The revamp of the third Hamtaro movie.
-2 episodes of Sugar Bunnies Fleur.
-30 episodes of our new main show, Pururun! Shizuku-chan.
-3 batch episodes of Bosanimal.
-12 episodes of I.Cinnamoroll.
-The Beatcats Q&A.
-7 episodes of the first season of Jewelpet, in collaboration with Stardust Fansubs.

This year, compared to last one, has been way more productive in matter of new releases, which is what the team aimed for. Despite life events taking a lot of work time out of us, we have managed to achieve a good chunk of our objectives. We even took a few of completely unexpected projects, as they were announced around the year, and being able to complete those in time made us really proud.

Let's discuss our failures, however, as there has been a few:

This was previously discussed last year, but Hamtaro revamps have become a very low priority for us. Yes, they're relatively easy and fast to be worked on, but they also take time from other projects so we, most of the time, even forget they are an option.

We planned to finish Sugar Bunnies Fleur this year, but sadly both the QC and translation of further episodes has been delayed due life events of the team, and just like the revamps, it became a low priority later on.

We only completed half of the Hamtaro OVA&Movie revamps and Specials subtitles set for the year, but to be fair the ones that we released are by far the most requested ones, or the ones that most needed a revamp.

We also failed to work on other more personal projects like the Jewelpet movie and Hamtaro Hi! episodes, once more, because the team has been busy and they just became a low priority.

It is not set in stone, but we will try this year to diverse a little more our work and tackle down those stalled projects to the best of our abilities.

Now, let's discuss our achievements:

Pururun! Shizuku-chan has been flying, the first season is almost complete and we have kept a very good pace all year long despite difficulties. We are very excited for this year regarding this project!

Picking up small and easy projects, like Bosanimal and I.Cinnamoroll, has been a good way to keep the flames up and make something fun when Shizuku became too tedious. Bosanimal specifically has teached us a lot about typesetting too, albeit that makes the episodes more complicated, hence the slower pace.

Finally, let's review the objectives for next year:

-Finish the first season of Pururun! Shizuku-chan.
-Sub at most 6 episodes of Pururun! Shizuku-chan Aha!.
-Sub the remaining episodes of Sugar Bunnies: Fleur.
-Sub the remaining episodes of Bosanimal and, if possible, start subbing the live action drama.
-Continue subbing I.Cinnamoroll and sub all of the Cinnamoroll shorts.
-Sub the japanese version of Hamtaro Hi! episodes.
-Sub the Hiragana Hamtaro specials as well as the train specials.
-Sub the original Jewelpet season, following up the collaboration with Stardust Fansubs.
-Sub the new Jewelpet Movie, "Attack Travel".
-Revamp some previously translated Hamtaro episodes, sparcely around the year.
-Revamp the last remaining Hamtaro movie and the fourth OVA.
-Study the possibility of subbing other series related to the “kodomo” group,  candidates being: Mirmo Zibang, Maple Town, Tamagotchi, Calimero and  Valeriano, Master Hamsters, Hamster Club, Kyoro, Ringo no Mori and other Sanrio OVAs.
-If a new Hamtaro series shows up, translate it in the shortest time possible as a full-fledged sub team would do.
-Try to create a “stream event” where we subtitle live.
-Promote Patreon and Ko-Fi more to increase our patrons.
-Create a specific website, outside of Ham-Ham Paradise, for Paradise Hamsubs.

As you can see, 2024 is probably going to be a bit more tame than 2023 regarding new translations. We want to focus on finishing all of our open projects instead of starting new ones and keep delaying the old ones.

We expect to finish Pururun! Shizuku-chan's first season by June, so that will leave us half a year to work on other projects. We know that we won't just stay put and escape the allure of starting with the second season of Shizuku, but we will do our best to just limit it as much as possible so we can focus on other things.
