This story is actually. Very important to me. I started writing it when I was thirteen - and it's not the first time I've tried to tell it. I've written it before, under the title Mystical Island; this is a very different telling of it, though, even though it features some of the same characters - and is ultimately an exploration of gender and sexuality.
