MAXIMS

Traveling with fewer things creates room for more experiences.

Expansive travel does not require expensive travel.

If joy is a destination, then you have already arrived.

Minimalists maximize their appreciation with things that enhance their experiences.

On a long enough timeline, everything is impermanent.

Every destination is desirable when decision-making is a process of discovery.

A worrier is a person who concerns himself with outcomes outside his control.

Living in the moment is the antidote to the fear of missing out.

Great episode! My husband and I have decided we will be traveling this year. One of the places we are going to visit is a place we are wanting to move to… love hearing the packing suggestions and ways we can be present. I definitely overpack… so this is helpful! This really opened my eyes to what I should be focusing on instead of worrying about my extra charger, book, etc. Thank you!!!

I really appreciated this episode. I feel frustrated when I am packing for a trip because I want to pack minimally for myself, but I feel like I am expected to have room in my suitcase and need to pack extra things because I am traveling with my kids. It’s definitely something I need to discuss more with my partner instead of resenting my family members. Also, just wanted to note TK’s contribution to this episode. I loved his acknowledgment of how his view was changed live on the podcast. In general I really appreciate his viewpoint and his contributions to the conversations.
