New Patron here! So excited to be here I am entering this comment from a desk I bought as a 24 year old 28 years ago inside my childhood home that's been in the family since 1961. I bought 2 desks and 5 pieces of bedroom furniture. I still have them all, and I love them. They are from Ethan Allen's American Dimensions collection which is a Shaker style so they're still very much in style. They're as sturdy as ever. On another note, did anyone else feel disappointment when they found out about Seventh Generation's green washing? It is, afterall, a B Corp. I'd like to recommend Grove Collaborative. I worked there for about a year and they treated employees well and had diversity in the leadership at it's location in one of the most non-diverse areas of one of US's most segregated cities. I was impressed. Grove is on track to be plastic free by 2025. It makes a lot of products for which you just purchase a tiny package of concentrate that lasts months and add it to either one of their glass containers or your own and some water. It has excellent customer service and ships fast.

Welcome aboard! Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy the archives!

Hi Minimalists! Excited to be here, new patron as well. I wanted an RO filter but then found out that most of them waste 3-4 gals of water for every 1 gal of drinking water. I couldn’t bring myself to waste that much water for my own benefit. Thoughts?

Emma

Howdy, Shannon. I see your perspective. Personally, it seems like a bigger "waste" to poison myself and my family with tap water that contains arsenic, bromodichloromethane, chloroform, radon, and dozens of other toxins. But you do whatever you feel is best for you. Head on over to EWG.org/tapwater to see what's in your water. –JFM
