MAXIMS

Our memories are not in our things; our memories are inside us.

Memories become clutter when they get in the way of the present moment.

Moderation is the enemy of procrastination.

If you want to start tomorrow, do it all. If you want to start today, start small.

Don’t let your crastination turn pro.

“Someday” does not exist—it is merely a trick the mind plays to avoid the present moment.

Minimalism is not a radical lifestyle—it is a practical lifestyle.

Letting go makes room for more silence, more space, more calm.

The easiest way to organize your stuff is to get rid of most of it.

To love is to see the world as it is without attempting to change it.

Letting go of people-pleasing involves letting go of the need to be liked.

RE: letting go of items but not throwing them away. . I live in a rural community in northern NY and we are limited on local places to donate as well. I find a free table at the end of the driveway a very effective way to pass along items that are no longer serving me. No guarantee they are out of a landfill but at least they stand a chance.

OMG! Josh you are hilarious! In this episode when TK talks about loving being black and wearing black before minimalism was a thing, and you chime in and say “same!” OMG! I must have played that part 20 times. It is super funny! Like bringing me to tears funny. 😂 Thanks for a good laugh! Love the show!
