I think the issue is that your voice and delivery is so sweet to begin with, that if you pair it with a sweet and wholesome script it can be a little much. Like putting maple syrup and cake frosting on a candy bar. Feel free to experiment with different voices or tones, grow your voice acting toolbox, but your current talents lend themselves better to scripts that are tempered with a little darkness, a little edge.
