The reason I prefer Karin over Sakura is that the show actually provides a better explanation as to how Karin fell in love with Sasuke, than in Sakura's case. Karin fell in love with Sasuke, because he saved her life. Sakura fell in love with Sasuke because he was cute. Plus, I'm gonna probably get some smoke for this from the Sakura fans, but Karin just seems smarter.

Uh. Karin fell in love for the same reason as Sakura in the beginning, yes he was "cute" to them, but later on, both Sakura AND Karin started to fall in love with Sasuke because of other reasons. To be honest, Sakura had even more reasons to fall in love with Sasuke after they spend time together as Team 7. Sakura fell in love with Sasuke again who was her fellow team member and their bond grew over time. Karin almost never got to see that side of Sasuke (which she admitted). While Sasuke often times lashed out at Sakura, Sasuke himself viewed Sakura (and Naruto) as his fondest memory and a warm place he wants to go back to (if it weren't for revenge), which we can see in the fight vs KillerBee. I'm not that much of a Sakura Fan either but I do not like "baseless takes" as she is smarter. Objectively speaking Sakura IS one of the smartest people in her time which we can all find in the Story + Databook. It's not even about being a Sakura Fan or not. There is a truth that Kishimoto wrote in the story and databooks as evidence. The only area where Karin possibly exceeds is the amount of Chakra she possesses compared to Sakura
