Levi was just so numb already... after losing countless fellows... it's so sad. Also, the female titan was crying when he looked back, there was tear on her face. Maybe this was a mission she had to complete, otherwise she'll die? The plot is just so complicated. Really wanna see what's coming next.

People never catch that the Patch Levi gave to the soldier wasn't really Ivan's, it was Petra's patch. In the beginning you see Levi rip it off a body and you also see Levi glare at Patras body being tossed I'm slow motion. Ivan's body was never picked up. So how could he have grabbed the patch? He gave up his only memory of Petra for the sake of his soldier's feelings.
