Hey everyone, thank you for joining us as we watch the next movie in the Harry Potter franchise, this is 2009's Half-Blood Prince.

After the brutal end to the last episode we were expecting great things from this next instalment. Losing such a big character (and one that was so close to Harry) sent shock waves through the wizarding world and also left Harry without a Godfather.

This movie was incredible and we can see why it was such a fan favorite, love, lies and betrayal would be a better name for this movie lol.

This franchise has been incredible so far and we can not wait for the next movie!

The explanations of the different plot points were a little thin on the ground with this movie, more so than with most of the others. Snape's moniker, the Half-Blood Prince, was a reference to his mother, Eileen Prince, who was a witch who married a muggle. Hence, he was a half-blood and also a Prince. Snape grew to hate muggles in part because of his abusive father, Tobias, and by the time he graduated from Hogwarts, had already begun to support Voldemort's cause for wizarding supremacy. Snape's old potions book was, apparently, where he liked to make his notes in school. When he became potions master, he added his copy to the lenders in his classroom and, it seems, forgot it there. That is, until he recognized the effects of the spell he invented in the aftermath of Harry and Malfoy's duel in the bathroom. He even ordered Harry to produce his copy of Advanced Potion Making for inspection, but Harry immediately hid the Half-Blood Prince's copy in the Room of Requirement and tried (and failed) to pass off Ron's copy as his own. This is how Snape knew that Harry knew the name "Half-Blood Prince" in the run-up to the ending of this installment, and why he made a point of mentioning his identity.

Keep in mind Harry couldn't have been the Half-Blood Prince, because the name was written in the book before Harry read the name in the book.
