(Do not judge me on how late I’m watching this, it’s been a bit of a month) Not necessarily saying characters *have* to fit in a specific archetype, I think it’s vastly more interesting when they kind of shift amongst themes. I agree with you on Roland, but with maybe a dash of tragic hero. His is not a “happy” journey, and I have to wonder how afraid the Crimson King and Walter were of Roland to manipulate him into taking his test too early. It’s an interesting discussion! I will not apologize for asking!
