An interesting play on folks who peak in high school. Some nostalgia is defensible, particularly if it’s done in an effort to be kinder to your younger self. But this isn’t that. This is about being entitled, being owed, but also being sloppy. Russell assumes that all humans are the same, and that everything that looks human is human (either idea could apply to the man). He also tells the child what to bring him–debit cards, credit cards, small electronics. Anything you tell a child risks being repeated. Now, kids say the darndest things, and get upset over all sorts of things. But it’s still a risk. A risk he freely took. That’s in character, but it still makes me wonder about something/someone like Russell, but smarter.
