yup the end of a great journey but now it's time for new Heroes to step into the spotlight. I have seen this movie like 100 times and cry every time.

You asked at the end about Steve staying in the past, remember that Banner/Hulk said changing something in the past does not change the future. Steve returned all the stones (and the hammer) to their own times then went back to be with Peggy and lived a happy life (in his new reality). But in the reality of the present day Avengers Steve had already been Captain America, we just saw him as an old man because his reality blended in with everyone else's so nobody noticed the difference. This is why Future Nebula killing Past Nebula did not affect Future Nebula at all. there's no ripple effect in this kind of time travel.

As was explained - poorly by Hulk, better by The Ancient One - any changes they make in the past create a new timeline and does not change their own so you don't need to worry about potential consequences. Great reaction!

No it was explained perfectly by Hulk. It's just that a lot of media goes along with the general "ripple effect" of time travel so its accepted as the norm. But seeing as no one knows what it's really like, it's pretty smart to think about time travel in other ways like it does in Endgame.

Tony Stark was the character that kicked off the entire MCU and has appeared in more movies than any other character so far. No matter how much we would want him to stay, I think it was the right thing to end his arc, sacrificing his life not just to save earth, but all life in the universe. The moment I saw Pepper in an Iron... Lady(?) suit on the battlefield, I knew that Tony would die this time. As far as I know, Cris Evans had voiced that he didn't want to extend his contract to play Cap any longer, so they gave him a happy ending where he could return to the past and be with Peggy again. From the comics, the title of Captain America has been passed on to several characters over time. Still, the journey is not over. Phase 4 is next and still ongoing. 9 episodes of "Wandavision" 6 episodes of "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" 6 episodes of "Loki" (season 1) "Black Widow" 9 episodes of "What if...?" (animated series) "Shang-Chi" "Eternals" 6 episodes of "Hawkeye" So, plenty more to watch still 😊

You asked how (but you probably noticed it by now) Scott came back. A rat just happened to walk over the controls and turned the accelerator back on. It was so random an act, it took 5 years for it to happen. And yes, Cassie is big, but she's still just a teenager.

OK, "let's do this one more time" (from another great movie), here's how I put it together after seeing it and also hearing a couple of things from the Russo Brothers. About the time travel in this movie, it goes against what you've seen in most movies and TV shows (the only one I can think of that is similar is "The Butterfly Effect"), them going into the past does not effect their futures, it creates a new timeline. But also, if they went back and changed anything, it wouldn't matter as long as the stones were replaced where/when they were taken 'cause everything would line-up again. The timeline that we saw definitely change was the botched attempt at the Tesseract when Loki got it and escaped. That one created a completely different timeline (that may have been negated by them deciding to take the Tesseract from an earlier time and returning it back. Nebula shooting the past Nebula was not shooting herself in her own past timeline because when Thanos found out about the two Nebulas, that's when new timeline branched and that past Nebula is no longer the history of present Nebula. Their paths diverged. So, her killing her past self was sad, but it doesn't effect this Nebula (except maybe traumatizing her...Sheesh). The thing that took me the longest to get was how Cap came back as and old man. Well, I got part of it and the Russos explained the rest that when Steve left to go back in time (by the way, he took the hammer just so that he could put it back in it's own time on Asgard), after he finished putting everything back, he never reactivated his Pym particles to come back to the present and then just went back and stayed with Peggy WHICH created a new timeline where he got to live out his life with Peggy. After she died in that timeline, he then used the Pym particles again to come to the original timeline, just a bit earlier so that, basically, he could tell them he was OK and say goodbye AND pass the shield and the mantle of Captain America to Sam. I wasn't sure about the shield but I always thought he had another one made, because it's looks slightly different, rather than him taking his from the past (new) timeline. On subsequent watches, I can see that Bucky knew, maybe even before Steve was sure, that he was going to stay in the past. He said his goodbyes to him saying he was going to miss him. Wouldn't have needed to say that if it was just gonna be 5 seconds. Much like how the original trilogy and the prequels of Star Wars are the complete character arc of Anakin, the first 10 years and 20-something movies tracked Tony's complete character arc. The MCU started with him and all of the times we see him, he inches closer and closer from the slick, womanizing, narcissistic, entitled jerk he started at to, as Cap said in the first Avengers movie, someone who lay down on the wire to save others. At the time, Tony said he'd just cut the wire. I guess Dr. Strange knew even at the end that if he told Tony ahead of time, he'd still try to find a way out of it. I think that's why he waited to the last possible minute to show Tony there was only one option and that option that Tony was thinking WAS the only possible one they'd win. So, Tony, in that last moment did what was totally against his instinct and CHOSE to do that one and only thing and lay on the proverbial "wire" so that everyone could survive. As another reactor would say, "That's goddamn beautiful."
