Going back and reading some of my stuff, I'm seeing some issues that might crop up in the future or things I plainly don't like. The part where Cedric suddenly gets horny for dragon was especially jarring. I'm going to be cutting out that part as well as whatever else is bugging me.

I didn't want to do this because it'll inevitably result in confusion for people who didn't pick up on the changes, or as I move toward future chapters, but the alternative is having a story full of problems.

It's a bit demoralizing because the issue is bigger than I expected... the title is a good example of that. It's going to be really, really difficult for Cedric to bang Islanzadi in a believable way. The more I think about it, the more I realize I wrote myself into a corner before even starting the story and how stupid that was.

So I might have to change the title as well. To be clear, this isn't anything like a rewrite. I don't do rewrites anyway. Just cutting out and adding a few things to older chapters without changing the story too much.

An issue some people brought up is it feeling like the story is being railroaded (it was a criticism on SubscribeStar as well) and I agree. As the author, I'd prefer to have more freedom than less, and clearly setting up the story progression goes against that.

We're still going the Arya route like I said in a past comment, but after that Cedric will be going his own way. Between whatever editing I decide to do, I'll still have a new chapter today.

Also I found cedrics random want for saphira to be funny and I vote for it to stay in.

hmm... the issue is with saphira herself and her connection with eragon. if you read the books, they are very much two peas in a pod. i don't know how realistic it is for her relationship with him to stray from that (which would probably end up happening if Cedric does, say, try to persuade her to take a half-humanoid form). and it's also a little out-of-character for him to do something like that. as said in that section, he's happy to let things take their course, he won't actually try to get with any of the women in the setting by putting effort in.

Personally I find Cedric finding out he might be a scalie to be an integral part of his character development. Joking aside I actually find that it did make him feel like a bit more of an actual human being to me. Unexpectedly finding something hot is real as hell.

Personally I never thought the title was literal, I thought it alluded to him not copying Eragon's path from the books and doing his own thing. I think it's a good title and the main thing is to write what you feel would make a good story, not force some unnatural plot developments out of obligation.

Its still there so I suppose you might have decided to leave it and I just wanted to say I think its for the best. Its a weird moment of levity and the dude finally "gets it" when it comes to how people gush about dragons being amazing. Just took it in a weirder direction than the rest of alegasia.
