Alright, Gang gather around, update on the Virtual Novel Big Gain Gym.

I've been slowly playing around with some of the rendering elements, one particular piece I'm trying to nail down is Day n Night cycles (morning, mid-day, and at night).  To help create various story elements and in a few cases having the scene lit differently plays an important part. 

A story example: 

The main character finds himself working an additional shift. The bitch manager has struggled to find new hires to help pick up the slack so (You) have to cover. Instead of hanging out with friends and drinking at the bar. You find yourself in a poorly lit Gym, with the occasional car driving by, illuminating the space. It's a Friday evening, no one is coming into the gym. You go by to clean the weights for the 3rd time this evening, and then suddenly, you hear a young girl enter...

So yeah - kind of hard to make that scene believable if I just used the typical mid-day lighting. This is where some of my spare time has been devoted to.

Another piece I've been attempting to do, Is create branching scenarios. You get the opportunity to choose A, B, C, or D. Depending on what you choose, you might get slapped, might get rewarded, might get lucky. The issue is...my god it takes a lot of work. Let alone make it a rewarding experience with actual different results. 

Even the smallest branching interaction easily eats up an evening. Thankfully - Big Gain Gym is a backburner project. No rush to finish. Taking my sweet time, getting it just right. Id rather have a robust experience that you'll actually want to replay than a simple, straight forward one and done.
