I remember watching this before I even knew what anime was 🤣 The voice acting reminds me a LOT of dragon ball z where they did a lot of winging it with the translating to make it more "westernized". It has a unique charm to it though and I agree its very nostalgic!

No way! You see mine was Pokemon lol Hopefully the translation is not too far off of what the characters would say in the original version but I am enjoying watching something in dub 🤭

The more times I watch the first episode the more it makes me emotional. Like he really had no self worth. His mom wasn’t a great role model, the teachers always expected the worst out of him, and his reputation made life difficult to navigate. It’s kind of that young mindset that a lot of us can fall into where we think the world is against us. His wake really opened his eyes to how people truly felt about him.
