After this episode, I couldn't care less about Ketil. F... him and his farm. Such a horrible man.

Some things about Thorfinn and his choice to choose a path of no violence. I hear a lot of people mention how he was just defending himself, he was fighting for something good, etc etc.. And I get that.. But I read someone's comment in the past that related Thorfinn's decision to stop using violence, to an alcoholic's decision to stop drinking. I don't think you'd tell an alcoholic, "Oh it was just one drink. Don't stress it." aka "Oh, you were just defending yourself. It's fine." That one instance of violence (whether it be for something good or bad), that one drink.. holds memories, visions, emotions, struggles.. Just a lot more weight to them. Like how Thorfinn would remember that woman in the past, who helped him and was a casualty of his violence, every time he would have a violent dream or when him and Einar got into that fight. I don't think Thorfinn's being too hard on himself. For him, finding a method to resolve things without violence feels like his life's purpose now. I will say I am pretty biased towards the idea that violence should be the last resort so I definitely sympathize more with Thorfinn when he truly struggles with finding a solution that doesn't require violence. I believe we should all be struggling to find that solution rather than making excuses for our violence. I think we've just gotten too comfortable with the idea of using violence or force to resolve things. Convincing someone through words or lack of violence allows them to come to an acceptance of what it is you're challenging them with or for both parties to come to a conclusion. Convincing them through force or violence is nothing more than just forcing your will on them.

Hey Ray thanks for sharing! I don’t completely agree with the comparison of an alcoholic but I understand the intention. The idea sounds so nice right, not using violence as the first resort. In cases where others are using violence against you though it’ll be hard to avoid violence. In this case Snake was not stopping nor up for discussing the matter any further. I feel like Thorfinn may have felt worse if he didn’t try to step in. Regardless he is suffering from all of this and it is tough to see. I'm curious if he'll choose this same route with future encounters or find another method.
