So I had to look this up as well because it was a little confusing, but what Genkai used and what Yusuke used were different abilities, but in the translation they called it all "Spirit Wave". The ability she used does use the Spirit Wave, but she did a whole lot more as well (the chanting and etc). Like imagine the Spirit Wave being an engine, and Genkai's ability was a whole car using that engine. Yusuke just used it as an energy blast.

I feel like Hiei was bluffing a bit. He was definitely getting his energy back but wasn’t quite at a level to truly break out yet. At least that’s how I took it. All the same, so great to see you cheering him on like that. He’s a little rough around the edges but can’t deny he grows on you right? And you just know, he’ll have their back if they ever need him. As for Kuwabara, well, if we break down his character a bit I think it could explain a few things away but pretty sure the key take aways are that his high spiritual awareness, lack of formal training, and emotional intune-ness give him the highest durability/stamina of anyone else on the team. Sort of like how Leorio from HxH was technically the physically strongest amongst Gon, Kurapika, and himself as seen by the end of the testing gates training when they went to retrieve Killua after the Hunter exam. He gets a lot of the short end of the stick but he does play his role as the anchor like no other. He’s also kind of the heart of the team but just so happens to also be played for comic relief from time to time. I just hope it doesn’t take you too out of the story. Feels like you had just started the series and here we are coming up on the halfway point pretty soon already.
