Should House Lannister get stripped of their wardenship of Westerlands? (Patreon)

Stags and lions are waging a destructive war in the south. If Lord Tywin fail in this war, should House Lannister get stripped of their overarching control over the Westerlands?

It's have too many cons. it's too big of a decision to just strip "Lannister" of the title of a warden.

As bad as the Lannisters are, stripping them of their birthright, especially if some of them are still alive, would be extremely bad idea.

I would like to point out that due to Cersei being married (having Baratheon surname) and Jaime being kingsguard, Lannisters of Casterly Rock are not at fault of their actions. BUT starting rebellion for 2 criminals who planned to usurp throne to their incest born bastards.... this is even worse than Blackfire rebellion.

It would be a bad precedent. He didn't do it when the Iron Islands rebelled, hard to do it now, even if the crime is worse. Kill Tywin or send him to the Wall, take hostages, impose some heavy fines for 10-20 years and most of the Lords of the land will be happy with the result.

The Greyjoys had a legal excuse for their rebellion - The Iron Islands had never knelt or pledged fealty to Baratheon. A technicality perhaps, but an important one that even Robert recognized. Can’t break an oath you haven’t made, after all. Jaime and Cersei have no such protection under the law, plus they were much more underhanded in how they tried to usurp the crown. No way can the Lannisters keep the Paramount title and influence. Tyrion can be given the Rock and control of Lannisport (one last FU to Tywin) but that is where the family’s influence should end after this war.

Not really. The Iron Islands were not cucking the king. The Lannisters were, and they've invaded the Reach and caused untold destruction.

The only way I see the lions staying alive is if Tywin is kept alive. Because he didn't know about what his daughter and son was up to. That man is too proud of his blood to let what his daughter did stand. He most likely would have had those babies killed.

I say no, although there should be heavy penalties imposed, i don't think Tywin would be stupid enough to rebel for Cersei as the current circumstances are.
