Glad to see Benjen getting some love. An extremely interesting character who is written off in the books and sidelined in fanfiction. Wasted on the Wall imo. Considering he's the brother of Ned, who has beaten Arthur Dayne, and Brandon who is supposed to be a better sword than Ned; we can safely assume that Benjen is one heck of a warrior as well. Not to mention the fact that he was chosen as First Ranger over the likes of Qhorin Halfhand and Mance Rayder and other notable warriors of the Watch. On a side note, I'm also glad you are expanding on Gerion. Another interesting character who seems...normal...compared to his crazy family.

Well, readers were disappointed with Harry's apparent lack of interest in swordplay. Benjen might cure him of that in this trip. And Gerion is an interesting character mostly cause he was cool with Tyrion. Also, Gerion is an adventurer.

People expect Harry to be infallible. That's dumb. He must have his flaws to match his good traits. Also as you say Benjen might help Harry in Swordplay and archery as well as a hundred other skills that a warrior needs. Let's face it, Westeros is a warrior society. Harry is expected to be a decent warrior. His flaws can then be covered by his companions. If Harry is perfect then why would he bother having friends? We already know Jon will be a demon with a blade from the books, he can easily be Harry's sworn sword. Same with other flaws Harry might have, friends and companions may cover for him while he concentrates on his strengths. Sorry this got too long btw
