An old railroad story supposed to have been recorded as part of a WPA folklore project somewhere deep in Appalachia.  The tape was found in the bottom of a cardboard storage box where it had been sitting for more than 50 years.  Sound quality is poor.  The reel runs out abruptly in the middle of the tale and there isn't any more.

I recorded this in either 2007 or 2008.  All of the railroad lore is completely made up so there's no point trying to correct it, Major.

You do a decent drawl. I like it.

It all came from a lyric in my faux-railroad song "Engine Forty-Nine": Up ahead is Martin's Gate Where Mo Fisher met his fate And Robinson's old engine blew a piston.
