Eric Costello recalls a whole elaborate routine by Lupo & Cannizorro where they steal a frost-wyrm egg and try to decide how they're going to cook it.

I recommend soft boiled or poaching it. Just hope the mother doesn't find you.

In the particular story-line involving these two nitwits and the ice-wyrm egg, there is, in fact, no mother involved. The egg had been a gift from the Frost Lord to the Wolf Queen, who brought it back to Elfhame. She more or less gave it to the Master of Elfhame, who at one point chucked the thing into a deep snowbank. This may have had the effect of making the egg viable after centuries; that and putting the egg in a glass container, which reinforced the cold. The mother ice-wyrm had likely died many centuries previously (though how the egg remained viable during that time is a mystery).
