Have I posted this?  I don't think I have.  Some of you have seen pictures of Shuri Sumisu before, but you haven't seen this one, in color, of her sitting where she sits now.

This was a 1980s vintage Adel Rootstein department store mannequin which I found for sale at a thrift store.  She was pretty banged up, so I sculpted a new face & ears and painted her the fetching colors you see here.  I picked out a tasteful green velvet dress for her to wear, and I made the chain collar she wears around her neck.  I also bought that purple wig, because the facial surgery made her forehead bigger & the original mannequin hair wouldn't fit anymore.

She sits in the living room and watches me when I read.  Is she contemplating her sensual desire, or is she waiting for the perfect chance to kill me?  SPOOKY!!!

I seldom have visitors; It's strange.

Looks like she held up well after her restoration! Do you ever change her outfit?

There's a lot of awkward disassembly-reassembly involved in changing Shuri's clothes. Garments must have a large neck opening because they have to either pull down over her big ears or pull up past her hips (her torso comes apart below the waist, right about where the top of the pelvic bone would be). I tried a few different outfits on her at first, but I like the green dress best so I left it. Less hassle that way .. and besides, changing her clothes frequently seems just a tad pervy to me. More pervy, I mean, than just having a mannequin in the corner of my room.
