i...feel like this is becoming pure dadaism 🤨👍😁🤣 and i approve

I thought the difference between Dada and Surrealism was the difference between randomness and spontaneity. Dadaists used mechanical procedures to make random "art" whereas Surrealists tended to make

(pressed return instead of backspace) Surrealists would use whatever idea happened to pass through their mind. The distinction is subtle but important.

Yes and no, while one could argue that Surrealism is the purpose of the unbridled mind making random connections, while dadaism is pure randomness to oppose art in general, sort of an anarchic movement, to make it as simple as possible... one can never be completely detached by one's own mind, because it is your mind that is you. Thus, even when you want to be completely random... you just cannot be. People think that computers are never purely random because *insert "random" motivation here* but fact is that computers are already more random than what people accept as "true" randomness, thus, to say something blatantly obvious but that needs to be stressed, most MP3 players (something which i hope is a common ground) *WILL* doctor their own playlists when set onto "random", eliminating the possible random combinations in which the human mind will find a pattern. And some idiots even advertise this as "our playlists are truly random". Like those idiots at cupertino do. Why? Because we are our own minds and thus when we see a pattern we make it our own. This said, let me make my point to your reply: The way i see it, Surrealists took the ideas that came to their mind and put it on paper. Dadaists took the ideas that came to their mind and did the opposite, thinking that theirs was "true randomness" as opposed to the stuff they were seeing at the time. And to explain my initial statement: I thought "Eh...this comic is doing every random thing i would do if i did not leave my mind unchecked and forcing it the other way around". Thus "dadaism". But then again i did come here because i was drawn to your stories due to the fact that they are "surprising but inevitable" in that they make sense, but they go in a way which i would not have chose... at all. Not even under duress. But you make it seem very natural and obvious in hindsight. Thus i like them. Plus they do have a sense of humor which i also appreciate. As a last thing.
