 From Arnie:

A big month. The new season premiered and it’s great to be back. We’ve already recorded a lot of eps and there’s some fun stuff coming.

I also got so many nice texts and tweets and emails from folks excited to have read the Deadline article.

Had an incredible meal at Obelix with Emily.

Visited Ohio for Easter and caught up with my sisters. (I’m actually writing this in Ohio now, hanging out in my parents living room while everyone half talks, half watches Columbo on tv).

TV – In no particular order.

  • Shogun

  • Fargo s1 - Emily had only seen the most recent season so we’re going back and watching the incredible first season. It still blows my mind thinking back to the year when there was a tv adaptation of Fargo and Hannibal and I assumed that both would be trash and both were incredible.

  • Survivor

  • Game Changer

  • Taskmaster

  • Adventure Time

Movies – Best to… less best.

  • Anatomy of a Fall

  • Poor Things

  • Hunt for Red October

  • Dune: Part Two

  • Sister Act

  • Dream Scenario

  • Road House (2024)

  • Matrix Resurrections

  • Equalizer 3

  • Napoleon

  • Super 8

  • Die Hard 2

  • Terminator: Dark Fate

  • Last Action Hero

  • Terminator Genisys - woof

Video Games

Balatro - I continue to be obsessed.

Tabletop

  • Blood on the Clocktower

  • The Fox and the Forest

  • Horrified

  • Wingspan

 From Matt:

March 2024

What happened this month? Hmmm…

Season 5 premiered! We were finally able to share that we are working on an animated series! I promise as soon as we can share more we will. In the meantime, Season 5 will have to tide you over. There are some very fun guests coming up and I’m looking forward to more recording sessions with the whole gang.

Audio:

I’ve been listening to The Power of a Positive No. It’s interesting to think about negotiating and interacting with people in a different way than what is probably natural to me. Trying to undo years of improv training possibly?

TV/Movies/Web stuff:

Temporarily put our Worst Cooks in America binge on hold for an Iron Chef binge instead. Also saw Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. It was…fine? I guess? Arnie and I saw Dune 2. I crammed the day before by watching Dune on Max. I read the first book (two books?) back in high school. These movies reminded me that I don’t think I care about Dune.

Games:

Cozy Grove. Wingspan on iPhone. Wordle. All just things I feel like I have to keep up with right now. I don’t think I have a big game in me right now.

Food:

Had a good night out with Chris Rathjen just drinking German beer and talking about Doctor Who (I mostly listened). Had another terrific meal at Etta with Rathjen and his wife (and Jessye). If you listened to the Meet’n’Greet, you already heard about my late night Voodoo Doughnuts outing.

 From Adal:

Here’s what I consumed in March. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

TV:

  • Extraordinary season 2

  • Top Boy season 1

  • Top Chef season 21

  • X-Men ‘97

  • The Regime

  • The Oscars

Movies:

  • Ramy Youssef: More Feelings

  • Dan Soder: On the Road

  • Dave Attell: Hot Cross Buns

Music:

  • The Decemberists - Joan in the Garden single

  • The Libertines - Oh Shit

  • Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well

  • Charley Crockett - 10 For Slim

  • ELO - Eldorado

  • ELO - Electric Light Orchestra II

  • ELO - On the Third Day (I’ve been on a big ELO kick and gotta say if you don’t know them very well and you’d like something new in your musical rotation…pop on this album. It absolutely fucking rules)

  • ELO - No Answer

  • 42 Balloons the Musical

  • Ride the Musical

  • Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York the Musical

Other Stuffs:

  • Jemma and I had a wonderful time in Alaska. We never got a full shimmering/dancing view of the Northern Lights but glimpsed it a few times and got some decent pictures. The highlight ended up being us going dog sledding and yes I absolutely ate shit on a turn while standing on the back of the sled. If anyone ever needs recs for Fairbanks - hit me up.

  • We just got back from a killer trip to NYC celebrating Jemma’s birthday. We saw the show ‘Oh Mary’ - which is one of the funniest plays I’ve ever seen. Can’t recommend it enough if you have a chance to go. Other highlights include seeing Sleep No More a few more times, doing another great Escape Room at Mysstic in Brooklyn, seeing the new musical ‘Lempicka’ and the closing night of ‘Days of Wine and Roses’.

  • Enjoyed seeing Mitski, Daoi Freyr and Guster in concert

  • I was a guest on the Best of the Rest podcast - talking about the bonkers, ahead of it’s time(?) film…Last Action Hero

  • Read the graphic novel Maniac of New York by Elliott Kalan

  • Over at Hey Riddle Riddle Patreon we're very excited that this whole month is 'April of the Penguins' (March was taken) and will feature an entire month of Penguin Baseball content
