TED-Ed Clubs are active in over 130 countries all over the world, and we love keeping track of what they're up to via their social media, our Connect Week calls and through the thoughtful, impassioned, often humorous Talks they submit to our TED-Ed Clubs Youtube channel

But every once in a while, a Club will give us a big, wide glimpse into their inner workings, and nothing warms our hearts more.

When TED-Ed CPT —a Club comprised of students from Dunoon Township, 35 KM outside Cape Town, South Africa —sent us this video about their Clubs experience, it reminded us why we are grateful to be  doing the work of sharing what these brilliant minds have to say. For us, nothing compares to a group of young people taking this program and really making it their own.

We thought you, our Patreon community, might appreciate this glimpse at the work you are helping to support. There are currently 48 TED-Ed Clubs on the African continent (compared to 962 in North America). With your support, we hope to grow that number to at least 500, with an average of roughly 10 Clubs in every African nation to start.

We believe that the more students have a platform for expressing themselves, celebrating the ideas that excite them, and encouraging each other, the healthier a world we get to live in.

So thank you for your support, and thank you to the students in TED-Ed CPT, and all of our Club Members, who are bravely putting themselves out there and sharing their passion with the world.

If you're interested in starting a TED-Ed Club of your own, that's awesome! Check out our website here

TED-Ed CPT: Projecting Voices

TED-Ed Cape Town is an after school TED-Ed Club comprised of students from Dunoon Township, 35 KM outside Cape Town. Students at TED-Ed Cpt use the TED-Ed Clubs curriculum to tell a story only they can tell. The TED-Ed Clubs program supports students in discovering, exploring and presenting their big ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks. In TED-Ed Clubs, students work together to discuss and celebrate creative ideas. Club Leaders receive TED-Ed's flexible curriculum to guide their Members in developing presentation literacy skills to help inspire tomorrow's TED speakers and future leaders.
