This is really neat. Also that technology is fascinating. I think if I had access to something like those headsets, I'd try out what its like to be bi. I can bend and contort my mind quite a bit IRL but artificially creating an attraction to men takes all of my focus and doesn't leave enough left to talk and I can only hold it for a few seconds or up to a minute if nothing distracts me. A device which lets me twist my mind without effort sounds like a lot of fun.

It occurs to me that this system could fall for the trap a lot of machine learning does. Since it's pulling so much from players to build out the experiences for players venturing outside their own experience, it's likely to inherit and even amplify all the biases it finds.

Which was what I was saying on other strips. Lisa and her friend think of Fiona as a girl, Fiona is trying to pretend she's a girl with them and Craig is backing that up. That's four "Fiona is a girl" players minds to draw on so I imagine those surprises are all going to involve her thinking, feeling or acting in a female role. Given that she broke up with her "boyfriend" over kids those surprises are going to be interesting.

It would be fasincating to experience life as a girl, elf, fox, other mindset. Imagine a role playing game where you actually get the perspective a thousand year old elf. Still I can see huge potential for abuse too and the long term effects of a personality other than your own has to have an effect.
