As I said just say your old friends and you have a standard policy with new people of pretending to be her boyfriend so she doesn't get hit on. Its still a lie but it avoids any issues with break ups or the like. Truth could work too but if Felicia doesn't want to do that the other lie contradicts nothing, is easily sustainable and makes no one look like a bad guy. Heck you could even have it be a truth, Felix is exploring being a girl but doesn't want random guys hitting on her.
