So confirmation, definitely not wearing dreamband. But reality has changed. Balance is off, and things are “too detailed for a dream”. Fiona also fell down and it hurt enough to say “ow”, which usually wouldn’t happen in a dream. So evidence points to either *actually* being in an alternate reality, or just having an absurdly detailed and realistic dream.

It's entirely possible this is still the Dreamband. Felix finishing the mermaid tale and getting to bed is likely still part of the simulation that Jess had devised. She may simply have instructed the Dreamband to stimulate a female body in "hard" mode, with no help at all from the device. Like in a game that automatically aims at enemies at easy difficulty but can also be set up to be much more challenging.
